The MacManus Brothers

In all the years I have followed Elvis, he has done very well to keep details of his family to himself. Here's a really surprising snippet from saturday's Sun newspaper... LOOK out for RIVERWAY’s new indie-pop single Don’t Start Me Off. It’s a quality track but that’s no surprise – the Twickenham-ba...

I've been to over 30 shows over the decades, but would love to hear him play "Unwanted Number".

Favourite song I've heard once was a cover of "One Day I'll Fly Away", performed at the Edinburgh Playhouse umpteen years ago.

Has any read anything more pretentious than the tosh that Steve has published about his solo album??? Here's what it says on his website... Everywhere I travel, I record sound out of the window, with my portable DAT machine. I also take a snap-shot of each window with a digital camera. Two musical t...

It was the day after Accies defeated the Graeme Souness led Rangers 1-0 in the cup at Castle Greyskull, and Elvis dedicated "The Poisoned Rose" to Souness. As for that game at NDP, it was actually 1-1. A temporary setback on Queens' road to fame and fortune presumably. But the freeloaders ...

When Elvis toured with The Confederates, the tour reached the Edinburgh Playhouse on 1 February 1987. I was in the front row of the balcony and was in high spirits after a momentous day at the football the day before. Anyway, Elvis announced that he would do a new song, if that was alright with us. ...

I was intrigued by the appearance of this new singer in the late summer of 1977, despite my then deep affection for The Stranglers. Despite liking the singles, I was put off by a letter in the New Musical Express where someone complained that My Aim Is True was only 27 minutes long. I eventually pic...

What was quite interesting was when Elvis stated that he had a pretty good idea of what his next 5 albums would be, but declined to elaborate.

He also seemed to avoid the question on future plans, other than the remainder of the European tour.

While on the subject of Frank Skinner, his spoof on the Darkness at the end of the show was embarrassing.

Here are some pictures, courtesy of the super soaraway Sun newspaper.

I can't be bothered with TJL, but really enjoy both Painted From Memory and North. Having said that - and despite hearing the North songs performed superbly last night - I did just conk out on the couch with North on the hi-fi. Maybe it's something to do with the songs not being dissimilar, or very ...

I agree that the North songs sounded terrific and had the audience spellbound. Funnily enough although I had heard the most recent incarnation of Almost Blue on a bootleg, I never realised that for Steve to play the Melodica thing, Elvis has to take over on piano in mid-song. I know it's kinda obvio...

While on the subject of "5ive Gears in Reverse", I can still recall seeing Elvis play that at the now demolished Regal Theatre in West Calder in Scotland in March 1980, with the roadies making sure the speakers didn't fall over. They played it as an instrumental... The Greatest Thing is on...

Elvis on "Richard & Judy"

Elvis was on the show for about 6 or 7 minutes and chatted quite affably without revealing anything new. Short clips of the videos for "Pump It Up", "Oliver's Army" and "Still" were shown.
