I bought Perry Ferell's album "Song Yet To Be Sung" for $2 on Amazon, and it arrived yesterday. It's electronica/DJ music, but it still has that distinctive voice and ibe. I really liked it, much more than I thought I would. Then, yesterday I was at Fry's Electronics (which has good CD pri...

I don't know if I have 10 in the rock/pop category. Because I generally don't dig live albums. But these are some that I like an awful lot, in no particular order: 1. Radiohead - I might Be Wrong 2. Jovanotti - Autobiagrafia di un Festa 3. Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense 4. Jars of Clay - Furtherm...

That is very cool. Did you practice in front of the mirror; how do you actually prepare for the parts, and where could we see/hear the results? I didn't practice in front of a mirror, as it's voice over work, and no one will ever see my face in it. You can currently see my (very limited) work in Sa...

But it's not just the lyrics. The music bores me as well. And I don't think life experiences would change that for me.

Cafe Tacuba are a rock en espa~ol group from Mexico. I think they are one of the best bands around in any language. They have released 5 albums, a compilation, and a couple of ep's, and all of the above are very rewarding listening. I highly recommend all of them, especially Re and Avalancha Des Exi...

I don't like it. It leaves me completely cold. As does For the Stars. I'd say "as does the Juliet Letters, except I actually really like about 3 songs on that (and I love the concept, if not the execution). But back to PFM. It bores me to tears. I remember the first time I heard it, full of bre...

Keep in mind: 1. My brother made me audition. 2. He is relentless in getting things to sound the way he wants. 3. I get smnall roles, generally 4. He made me drive back down to Austin to redo some of my lines, and as per my contract, I was not paid any extra, so it actually cost me money to do it. B...

What does that mean? "Especially in Texas..." Texas is home to ADV Films, the premier company for importing quality Anime and dubbing it properly into English. They did all the Samurai X stuff as well as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Robotech, and a bunch of others. They're based in Houston and...

I got to do some voice over duibbing work for a Japanese film called Princess Blade over the weekend. It might be direct to video whenever it comes out, or it may have a limited theatrical release. I have a bit part, Friend of Takashi. The guy who did the voice of Takashi used to be in the band Poi ...

How is Strays? I love Jane's Addiction, and I even really liked both Porno for Pyros albums. I never heard the Perry Ferrel solo effort (though I ordered it the other day for $1 on Amazon).

How does it stand up to Nothing's Shocking and Ritual?

Bob Wills is an excellent choice. I was his grandson's 7th grade history teacher.

El Vez,

I think I did cast a write in vote for Lyle Lovett.

Anybody else think Lyle deserves a vote?

50 Cent is the newest rap sensation. A protege of Eminem with a big hit now called "In Da Club, " and another called "21 Questions " or some similar number of queries.

He sucks.

Ice,

"Fer shizzle" and related terms predate Snoop. The first time I heard it was on De La Soul Is Dead (a brilliant record). On it, in between tracks, Posdnous says, "I'm the shilznit," and Trugoy replies "I'm the shilznobilznit. Fashizzle."

Thanks for your condolences, all. And thanks for the very nice private messages. I will answer them personally. It's the strangest thing about funerals. I was unexpectedly in my hometown, surrounded by people I love very much. Friends and family that would do anything for. Sleeping in the guest room...
