Are we talking about songs that cure depression, or cause it? Because my immediate reaction to the post was Punch The Clock! The post kind of reminds me of when REM released Everybody Hurts. I remember depressed folks claiming that it really helped them. Though I think the song is good, I recall wan...

Lost in Translation is probably my fave. movie of the past 10 years (since Pulp Fiction)! My nickname here is from that movie :D Scarlett Johansson is the most beatiful actress nowadays... and Murray is brilliant. Perfect Movie!!!! I know what they were trying to do in the movie, and the performanc...

Dylan should be on top! (at least above Brown... thats for sure!) I believe the list is chronological, and while Bobby Z may have been beating on a tambourine by 1954, I imagine his voice had a different kind of raspy whine at that time. Though I have heard he wrote the chorus to Just Like a Woman ...

The only EC album (and I have the lot) I never listen to is the Bill Frissell effort. I just found it dull. I will defend TJL to my grave!! Absolutely agree with your assessment on both counts. Those who dismiss the Juliet Letters, I believe, are missing some of his best songwriting. Most of the so...

I'd have to say Lost in Translation.

Just can't quite sympathize with the plight of the rich and the beautiful, boo hoo.

If you wanna feel lost, try adding fat, old, poor, and ugly like me. There's yer movie.

I loved Sea Biscuit and Master and Commander!! I've never really understood the fuss about Barton Fink. It's easily my least favourite Coen Bros movie. Also The Matrix was a load of hokum Interesting JM, Barton Fink, tied with Fight Club, is my favorite all time movie. I'm basically in a trance fro...

Kojak easily my least favorite. MLAR is up there but no where near KJV. And if we're adding in the expectation factor, I'd have to say WIWC is up there, too. For a rowdy rythym record comeback, I'll take Brutal Youth any day. As for For the Stars, I don't really consider it an EC work, but more of a...

Only via Newark.

Regarding the first picture:

Why is a thinly disguised John Kerry lurking in the background?

And I feel sorry for that poor kid who is obviously daydreaming about Tater Tots (no offense spooky, I only just now read your preface, he looks like a cute kid).

Pretty Woman

A feel good romantic comedy about a hooker with a heart of gold and her escapades with an unwitting stuffy old millionaire.

But I think they already made that, and I'm not even sure which album it was on. But it's the only time I can remember Elvis yodelling.

I saw them both at the theater and definitely prefer the sequel.

The Amish get a bad rap in my estimation.

Most people don't realize the close association between the Amish and NASA.

The Amish actually were deeply involved in knitting covers for the landing capsules during the Apollo missions.

Unfortunately they tended to burn up during re-entry.
