Maybe one day we should open a serious discussion about bootlegging music. I am in favour of music, of course, and definitely in favour of Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus and everything in connection with him. But I can´t understand -talking about this Forum- why people is so cautious and reticent...

Let me put it this way Laughingcrow.....I was 15 in 1978 when EC came out with his first record. (Wow, that makes me sound older than if I just would have said I was 40!) A very young 40, I might add. People are pretty surprised when they find out that I have a 19 yr old. Elvis's first recor...

I like North a LOT, but it does sometimes help cure my insomnia  The songwriting is, IMO, actually a lot more sophisticated than people are giving him credit for. The lyrics were written to fit the music. His usual wordiness, filled with double entendres and snappy phrases just wouldn't work. Y...

Re: Musicom review of North
I can't take seriously a review from someone who lives with a "flatmate." I prefer reading stuff written by grown-ups.johnfoyle wrote:http://www.musicomh.com/albums/elvis-costello.htm
My flatmate said it reminded him of Wings-era Paul McCartney...
I saw the incident with the TV show because a relative o fmine was a fan. We watched it one evening, and he turned it off after Rush made his comments. He's never watched or listened since. Al Franken discusses the incident in his new book. Apparently, the Limbaugh folks tried to explain it away by...
Noise, I agree with your very coherent, thoughtful and intelligent remarks. However, let's not get distracted from the core truth of the matter: RUSH LIMBAUGH IS BIG FAT IDIOT! And other observations: Frankly, I have little sympathy for Rush and his drug addiction. In fact, I think the situation bor...

Amazon.com review of North

Plying other people, not yourself. That would just be songs about drinking, which isn't much of a challenge. Excuse me. Some excerpts: The other night I laid sleeping, and I woke from a terrible dream So I caught up my pal Jack Daniel's, and his partner Jimmy Beam And we drank alone The other day I...

I'm with Spooky and POV. While TYM was an image and attitude defining album for Elvis and a sound-defining album for the Attractions, KOA is simply the best album Elvis has ever made! Hey! How did you know how I voted?!? I thought this was supposed to be an anonymous poll! What is this, an Iraqi el...
