It's a lovely picture, but I just wish there'd be a picture with a nice hug, or, I don't know, some eye contact? All I've seen is pictures of Mr. Costello yanking Diana along behind him, or staring off into the distance while she gazes at him adoringly. I mean, throw me a fricking bone, here.

Following is a transcript of the Robert Kirby interview. Posting it here because it's interesting, but if need be I'll delete it and pray for forgiveness. Most people know you from Nick Drake. What other artists have you worked with? I've probably done best part of a hundred albums, I'd say in the l...

I have the box set, Fruit Tree , and while it's not something I can listen to 24/7 (it's a bit too 'folky'), I find Drake's voice intensely soothing and melancholy. ETA: It may have been an intentional overdose, but it may also not have; Drake used the medication as sleeping pills and may have just ...

It's college-dorm style philosophizing. I imagine it drunkenly scrawled on a beer-soaked bar napkin; it goes down better that way.

Re: EC & DK feature in the Sindo today

ROCKER Elvis Costello and jazz babe Diana Krall were bound to strike a chord in each other (or at least a musical note) when they met at the Grammy awards early last year. And it must have been a really good year for the roses because now the duo (duet even) are set to go the whole nine chords, or ...

Payday came early for me, so I got North (um, officially, since I kinda downloaded everything beforehand. Bad me!) and the Trust reissue. My thoughts: It's a very particular album, and it's not good just-walking-around music. It's great if you want to come down after a tough day/long night, or for a...

I do believe as well that there may be one or two others on here that know said parties. That should not be considered named dropping if it is true. I stand by my saddness for poor Cait, my love of rock star Mr. Costello's music, and my "like" of Ms. Krall. Yea, I did get a bit heated aro...

I am shocked - shocked, I tell you! - at the implication that Mr. Costello has ever been anything but 100% faithful. Look at me. Sitting here. Being shocked.

I hope Cait got buckets of money out of him.

Oxtails! I made oxtail stew for the first time a little while back; takes a looooong time, but when they say the meat turns fall apart tender, they mean it. Mmm-hmm.
