Ah yes, Welcome to the Voice...the New York workshop gave birth to the legendary Listserv Algonquin Roundtable, when about 30 of us took up the half of the Algonquin Room not used up by Steve's post-performance bash, and we mingled with the various luminaries...

I also caught that concert on VH1 Classics a few times over the weekend. I'm glad to hear it's on DVD, that's a no-brainer buy for me. I kind of hope Tim Finn gets involved, I really loved Woodface , which he had a hand in making. But it sounds like the songs are already in the can. Maybe he'll tour...

If he did a Billy Joel/Paul McCartney and renounced contemporary music for symphonic. I'd simply have to find him and set him straight.

Being in NYC, it wouldn't be that hard. ;)

Annie Lennox recorded a version of "Ladies of the Canyon" for her Medusa album in '95, it didn't make the final cut but was released as a B-side on one of the singles. I wonder if they're going with that version or if she's going to take another crack at it. It was a pretty rendering, if u...

From the 70s, Court and Spark is a classic of course, that's a must-own. Hejira is great, also Ladies of the Canyon which includes Big Yellow Taxi and Woodstock. Blue and For the Roses are also very good. I'd get those before her late-70s stuff which is more experimental, like Mingus . I love two of...

With all of Jeffrey's achievements overcoming his problems, you'd think a little humility and compassion would have slipped in there along the way. Santino was a teddy bear compared to him. Zulima would have cowered before him! I'd rather he didn't go all the way but it sure looks like he's guarante...

I just don't see what else there is that could make this collection any more desirable than the last two.

Including vinyl, I've purchased the man's catalog 4 times over. Enough.

If there's new material that's been uncovered, release it separately.

Shoot me, stab me, kick me...it's WIWC for me.

I skip through parts of TDM and TRIR, and North is too meek. But WIWC is the most recent album that is still in my heavy rotation to this day.

Lordy! Why doesn't he just move into the Beacon? I'm starting to know the insides of that place better than my own home. I would kill for him to play someplace different... Not that it's a bad venue or anything, but there are lots of places to play in New York besides the Beacon and Town Hall. A lit...

Actually, many professional singers/voiceover artists will wear scarves to keep their throats warm and dry, especially on a recording day. I've been known to don one if I needed extra vocal warmups sometimes... It's the same thing as keeping your brass polished and your guitar in a nice padded case,...

Certainly did, thank you! Although the cynic in me would attempt to reduce the entire phenomenon to this: "The Smiths broke up and Manchester needed a new Elvis to stay on the map. And The Stone Roses were the Johnny Bravo to come along at just the right time to fit the suit. Luckily, the one a...
