Drawing a complete blank....I don't even recall him doing a song that was unknown to me.

Thoughts for the nation of Poland
Such horrible news today. Poland's contributions to western civilization are too numerous to mention. My thoughts are with our Polish friends.

Re: EC & Dallas Symphony - May 28-29
I saw him a couple of years ago with the North Carolina symphony. It was similar to the MFBB type show, with a few surprise selections thrown in (Still Too Soon to Know). Really fun show, with Steve along as well. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Wilco last night at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Unbelievably great. For my money, the best live act on the planet right now. Setlist: Wilco (The Song), Bull Black Nova, You Are My Face, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, At Least That's What You Said, Deeper Down, Handshake Drugs, Side with the...

Re: Spectacle season 2
I remember accosting AT one day and rather drunkenly asking for an autograph on my Spike CD. He was a little confused at first- happy to sign, but not sure why I was asking him to do so. Finally, he figured out that this was the album that DDTM was on! He laughed and said he'd never seen a copy. Thi...

Re: Spectacle season 2
You note the understated demeanor and professionalism of Mr. Toussaint. Not unexpected. The musicians of his era and in blues and jazz in general have a distinct view of their profession. One that says it is a job and you wear a uniform when you are working, in this case a suit and tie, and you con...

Agree Alex. Surprised at the amount of fear being spread and raised. Since when was fear an American attribute?

I'm pretty gutted by this. Not only was he a huge inspiration, but having lived in Memphis and New Orleans (Alex was a neighbor, but not an acquaintance, of mine), he was pretty omnipresent in the past 18 years of my life.

Re: New Album(s) Being Recorded in Nashville
I know I'm in the minority here, but I relish going on these sonic/concept/genre excursions with EC. I totally get where everyone else is coming from, but more and more I look at EC's albums as additions to his overall canon as opposed to a 'selection of songs'. Part of the appeal for me as a fan of...

I used to cover 'Crazy Love' in a band I was in and it never failed to pack the floor with slow dancers. Timeless.

Based on the tongue in cheek tone of some of the other entries, methinks the author was just having some fun re: Costello and Santana and their propensity for collaborations.

My friend Blair just released a new album, 'Die Young'. If you dig Feist, Phair, etc. you might like her too. Check it out at iTunes, etc. Favorite track: 'Hello Halo'.
