Here are some other EC concerts from the same outfit. If anyone orders one, please advise the board regarding quality:

Re: Spectacle season 2

Just caught Bruce Part One. Definitely one of the best episodes to date, primarily because of the following two reasons: 1) Bruce can out-talk EC 2) Bruce sings as loud as EC, making for a spectacular duet of 'I Can't Stand Up'. Bruce seems to turn EC into an uber-fan during the show. His solo acous...

Re: The Top 25

I totally get where you're coming from Jeremy. My entry was with 'Spike' and I think I heard 'King of America' and 'Blood and Chocolate' next, so my perception of who EC was wasn't stuck on the early model. I think it was liberating in a way. As you continue your journey into super fandom I think yo...

Re: The Top 25

Old timers have done this, but I think it is always great to revisit as it changes a lot. I can't put them in order, but here are my faves: You Tripped at Every Step I Want You Suit of Lights Still My Dark Life Red Cotton In the Darkest Place Deportee (solo acoustic version) St. Stephen's Day Murder...

Re: books, books, books

Sorry to say that Irving's 'Last Night in Twisted River' didn't do it for me. The beginning is very good and promised a very interesting story peopled with very interesting characters. Unfortunately, it devolved into the masturbatory self-infatuation of the last novel. I dig quirks and eccentricitie...

So the fact that I have EC and SN's autographs on the box of my copy makes it special?

Yes, you can adjust the font size. Also, the Kindle is not backlit, making it much easier on the eyes than staring at a computer screen or game device.

Re: books, books, books

My girlfriend got one for Christmas from her parents. She's a librarian and a lover of physical books, so she's really on the fence about how she feels about such devices. I can see us using it for travel, but certainly can't imagine curling up on the couch with it.

Richard Thompson question

I know there are quite a few RT afficianados on the board and I'm hoping for some advice. Other than Shoot Out the Lights and I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight, I don't have any of his work. I really enjoy those two albums, but I know there's a wealth of more recent solo stuff to get into to. ...

Re: books, books, books

I just picked that one up and will hopefully be checking it out before New Year's. Before that I've got John Irving's new one, which I hope is a return to form after the disappointing 'Until I Find You'.

Re: books, books, books

Just finished 'The Handmaid's Tale' by Margaret Atwood and am working on 'Cannery Row' by Steinbeck now. That will put me at about 110 on the list I think. I took a little time off to read Stephen King's latest as well as a few other non-list books. The Atwood book was excellent and also profoundly ...

Long overdue, I finally read Kerouac's On the Road. Glad I didn't read this when I was 21 or it all may have come out quite differently.

Re: New Gig Thread

We paid 60 dollars for upper balcony seats. Luckily we were in the front row of the balcony and in the center. Definitely worth every penny! Plus we parked free, and were treated to dinner by another couple, so all in all a great value!

Re: New Gig Thread

Wes was incredibly entertaining in front of a crowd of 50 or 60 at a church in downtown Durham. They were selling excellent local beer, so I was quite entertained. As with most solo performers, there is an element of the stand up comic.
