It's not MLAR that's relationship strengthening though, it's KOA. It just happens that (goodness knows why) the person who put the Indoor Fireworks video on Youtube set it to the MLAR album cover.
I was there as well. It's only the second time I've seen EC live. The other time was with the Brodsky's last year, so it was fantastic to see just him with a few guitars. A really impressive show. Loved all of it, just trying to think of some highlights. "Either Side of the Same Town" show...
Hello all, My mum works for an organisation called the "Admiral Nurses" who give support to those who care for family members with dementia. She was hoping to use some of the lyrics from "Veronica" as part of some promotional stuff. Who would she have to contact to get permission...
For those in the UK, does anyone know when (or if) season 2 will be aired? The first season was on Channel 4, but they shunted it around the late-night slots. Have they bought the second season rights, and said when they'll be showing them?
I shouldn't even reply to that nonsense - it's all a matter of taste, bla, bla, and of course I refute all three counts - but the guitarist bit is laughable. He's an extremely good guitarist in terms of phrasing, tone, expressiveness. Take a guitarist to see him and see what they say. I am not a gu...
I was in Holmfirth too. A really excellent show from Nick. The best gig I've seen since, well, the last Nick Lowe gig I saw at the Southbank Centre eighteen months ago. Long Limbed Girl was really good, as was When I Write the Book; dang it, it was all brilliant. It was the first time I'd seen Ron S...
I saw the gig at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. I did see John Foyle there, I recognised you from the photos you've posted on here. But I didn't have the courage to say hi  It was the first time I've seen EC after being a lifelong fan, so it was exciting just to see him. I would have rather ...
Hello all, On Amazon a few months ago there was a 2/3 CD set of the complete David Ackles. EC had written liner notes for it. I was going to add it to my Christmas list, but it seems to have disappeared completely from amazon uk. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine it, so does anyone know where it's go...
I've had computer problems, so haven't been on in a bit. But I usually just follow the discussions rather than contribute. I just stand in awe of all of your wit and wisdom. Bad excuse I know...
trying to think of artists not mentioned yet....I love Paul Carrack's voice. And Nick Lowe's now, he's rather soulful. And I've never liked Thom Yorke's voice, though I realise that's heresy in certain quarters. It's just too whiney for me.
Do we think that EC will write some liner notes for Rock and Roll music (etc) to go with Girls Girls Girls and his other reissue notes? Or will we have to wait until the autobiography's out...?
