the half price tickets booth, at piccadilly circus i think, was excellent for getting seats. if i'd had a BRAIN i could have seen Alan Rickman on the boards when i was there last. (i am an IDIOT.) do not, do NOT go see Fame. it stinks. hopefully it will have closed aeons ago. i know, it sounds silly...

gilli, when i lived in a third floor apartment, i used to put a bowl of ice cubes on level w/ my mattress, and direct the fan to blow over the ice cubes and towards me. might work at a desk too.

good luck. i know y'all aren't prepared to deal w/ such heat/humidity.

and honestly, no, i've never met him. we may be southern, but we've never been a particularly close family.

It seems to me (having seen Eels a month ago) that MC Honky is E himself. Even at the Dublin show when Eels finished their set, they brought MC Honky out to take a bow, but it's an Andy Kaufman-Tony Clifton thing... i quite agree. E seems to have such a wealth of ideas, and MC Honky doesn't even ha...

good thread! today i actually listened to Veronica and didn't lunge for the skip button. of course, i think the pretty full bottle of riesling that i had recently finished off helped. i don't like 'The Loved Ones'. sounds trite to my ears. but, even 'bad' elvis is better than alot of schlock on the ...

Yeah, I remember seeing one of Rothko's at the TM, Bamboo. Fabulously lit, with one whole wall to itself.... i adore Rothko. some time not long after i got married, the Sackler Museum in Cambridge MA exhibited Rothko's murals for the Harvard Faculty Club, which were taken down a number of years ago...
