Here's Winter Song - http://youtu.be/wYAOKFVx1gA?hd=1 . Thanks again for this - what a treat. Can anyone fill in the blanks for me? At the start he's chatting to the crowd and it appears to go "...t-shirt...my family's from the north west of England.." Any ideas what this is comment is ab...

That was fun - thanks for the link.

Interestingly he repeats the prospect that NR may be his final LP.

Thought this was very entertaining. I'd previously found Richard Bacon high on my Irritation Scale, but he is obviously a fan and wasn't simply going through the interviewing motions. Live performances all good, Indoor was fantastic.

The kidney song (about minute 57) was fun too.

Re: Elvis/Alan Bleasdale

Thanks John, I had assumed that he is the Alan B listed on NR amongst the Council of Wise Men and Women, this article seems to confirm that guess. He is a regular attender at EC's Liverpool shows, and I saw him cadge a ride on the tour bus when, for some unfathomable reason in 2003, EC played Manche...

Re: Elvis doing corporate gig, NY, Dec. 16 '10

Think the clue is in the words "professional musician". Nevertheless with Elvis's record of charitable donations and general good works over many years he should be fully entitled to chase the filthy lucre with a clear conscience on 16th December. Revenues for NR won't exactly be overwhelm...

8am yesterday , wafting out from the tannoy of the Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington, were the strains of "Alison" , crooned by our hero.

Highlight of my day.

Jesus Christ I love this venue. Yes it's a great hall with wonderful acoustics. Apart from the EC shows my favourite memory here is when a then up-and-coming musician with the working name "Elton John" played piano and sang for an encore a la "Couldn't call it Unexpected" ie wit...

Re: NR--Billboard Chart Placement?

Elvis LIKES it when his records do well. When he's pissed off about his records not doing well, he tends to not want to make more of them. As a professional musician with a (completely justified) bordering-on-arrogant sense of his own abilities as as songwriter, he is bound to be hacked off that on...

the vinyl will now be dec. 17 Strange, my CD arrived yesterday, as a sucker I'm considering ordering the LP as a Christmas present from my family. The Costello team advise me that an order placed today - 17th November - should arrive on 17th December, clearly this will be a lucky day. Colin Top Bal...

Re: NR--Billboard Chart Placement?

I ordered the £200 package, apparently all sent, still waiting. My biggest worry is I won a set of the 78's and they still haven't arrived, 4 weeks later. The straw to cling to is that we all appear to be in the same boat (or should that be ship?) with the CDS. Certainly us three Merseyside despair...
