Re: Elvis/Imposters play Atlanta, GA, September 24, 2011

Last night's show in Atlanta was a tad short of 3 hours. I clocked it at 1 hr and 50 minutes. KInda surprised at the brevity.

Re: Elvis/Imposters play Atlanta, GA, September 24, 2011

Is anyone here going to this? I'm going! And even though I can't stand the season ticket holders at Chastain either and am more than a little bit worried about my seats being so close to the stage and, by implication, those damn season ticket holders at their tables barely paying attention to the m...

Re: Elvis/Imposters play Atlanta, GA, September 24, 2011

Anybody have an idea as to when Chastain lets tickets for this show go on sale to a general audience?

Re: Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes 6/16 Nashville

Absolutely fantastic show tonight in Nashville. Longest encore I've ever seen - a little over an hour with just about every song seeming to be the last one, only to have Elvis sing just one more! Total show was probably about 2 hours and 40 minutes. The songs from the new album - he played just abou...

Re: Elvis Costello & The Sugarcanes 6/16 Nashville

I'll be at the Ryman show and also thought there might be something special in store. What sorts of things has he done in the past there? Bump. Getting closer now, and I'm curious, as I am at every Ryman appearance, of what else might be in store. He almost always pulls out some kind of stop when he...

Oh, one more thing. I found What Lewis did Last on the mp3 version of the album on Amazon for $.99.

Re: EC to release Secret, Profane and Sugarcane

Thanks for the info about Femme fetale. I'm surprised, though, that he was able to get three more songs on a vinyl record. The CD is already about 50 minutes long and most of my vinyl records come in at about 25 or so minutes a side (though I've got a couple of Miles Davis records clocking in close ...

Re: EC to release Secret, Profane and Sugarcane

What's up with the song credited to Lou Reed on the new album, Femme Fetale? I don't see it anywhere on the new album and yet there's a credit to it in the acknowledgements.

I'm still very much looking forward to seeing Elvis in Nashville - loved his show in Atlanta with the Atlanta Symphony - but I'm a bit apprehensive about one thing: I saw Diana Krall in the same hall this summer and the acoustics are definitely wierd. She sounded great on all of the slower, sparser ...

I can't wait to hear DK's cover of Only the Lonely. That's almost certainly my favorite Sinatra song (and I love the album as well, though, I think it's less consistent throughout that Elvis does). On the theme of DK neglecting her TGITOR tunes: I saw her in Nashville about a month ago and was sligh...

Thanks! I just got some fantastic seats three rows back just off center! I loved the show he did with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra about a year ago. Can't wait to see him in this sort of venue again.

Can someone post the link to the presale? I can't find it. Perhaps I'm not registered - the last Elvis pre-sale tickets I got were through his Duetschgrammophone site.

Any help would be appreciated!

Usually, when Elvis and the Imposters play Atlanta without any special guests, they play the Tabernacle - much better venue than Chastain and much more involved crowd. I've seen EC with Allen and Emmylou at Chastain the past two summers and the audience is just downright embarassing in their lack o...

No southeast dates announced. With the exception of the people that go to Chastain Park in Atlanta I bet it is a great place to see EC on a cool spring night. Ryman in Nashville perhaps, Memphis in May music fest possibly. Anyway excited to see what dates will pop up in the Nashville area. I can't ...
