Doc and I will be headed out of town until Sunday evening to attend my grandmother's funeral. I know I am quite old to still have a living grandparent, and I knew this was coming, but somehow I still find myself unprepared. She was my last grandparent and it just feels strange.
Please be on good behavior until we return. I might be able to log in from the hotel, but I'm not sure - it's a dink country town and I don't know for sure that they have heard of the internet yet.
My condolences Spooky. I have one grandparent remaining (she's 92!) and am certainly not looking forward to losing her one day. A loss is a loss, regardless of the person's age or anything else. Best wishes to your family.
We lost my grandad-in-law (if there is such a thing) soon after our daughter was born. He was 89. We were all pleased that he got to see his seventh great-grandaughter and I know he was thrilled about it too.
We're back, and I'm exhausted. Gotta love my grandmother. She had buried two husbands, was 86 years old, and still died with a "boyfriend" that loved her more than life. It's impressive that she was 86 and still had men worship her like that. She was a unique woman.
I was doing pretty good until I heard "Please Come Home for Christmas" this morning. . . .
