Re: 10 cds of new Costello recordings hidden in U.S. stores!!!!!
A million thanks to all people involved in making these tracks available!
Now, can somebody say if this sounds like demos/rehearsals before recording the "i-Tunes Originals"? Since I live in Sweden, i-Tunes never allowed me to buy that CD, so I haven't heard it yet...

Re: 10 cds of new Costello recordings hidden in U.S. stores!!!!!
Those who downloaded the initial version of track 12, which had a second and a half of silence starting at 1:53, may want to replace it with this fixed version, which edits in the missing bit from track 11.
http://www.mediafire.com/?0mmhdm1em5g
But track 12 is pretty much expendable either way, since as far as I can tell it's just track 11 with an earlier fadeout.
I edited the earlier post to include the updated link.

Ditto from me the thanks. Yes, Ulf, after comparing Little Triggers with the performance on the Best Radio podcast these are either the i-Tunes performances or rehearsals. Now, since there don't seem to be any plans to make them available elsewhere, would some Great American be good enough to either mediafire the actual i_Tunes session or do an old fashioned cdr copy or 2 for us overseas?ulfg wrote:A million thanks to all people involved in making these tracks available!

Re: 10 cds of new Costello recordings hidden in U.S. stores!!!!!
Thanks for these. Elvis gets quite inventive in playing around with these tracks. RIR is done pretty much the way it always has been, the rest get re jigged and emerge redefined. Some lyric changes sound fresh to my ears ; I haven't gone as far as re-listening to live performances to see if they were always there . In Kinder Murder the line 'Left her senseless' becomes 'fucked her senseless' , the crudeness delightfully complementing the song. In 'So Like Candy' 'I admire your taste' becomes 'You got lousy taste' , a not so successful change since it lessens the irony of the line She couldn't say "goodbye", but "I admire your taste".
Right now my favourite is Little Triggers , done with a melancholy that the 1970's studio recording can only hint at.

Way cool. Thanks for sharing. This will hold me over for a little while... Let's hope there is more to come.

One of the board members said she'd send it to me but she seems to have disappeared.
PM me.
As the song says, "I can't give you anything but my love"...

Thanks.
Those of you who know me will know of my uselessness when it comes to computers and downloading and stuff.
Could someone PLEASE contact me and send me a CD of this.
Thanks.
I was reminded about this from reading this:
http://www.elviscostello.com/web/guest/ ... urce=27665
"Ever since I hid ten copies of "30:10", - solo home recordings of re-written songs - in the jewel boxes of the "Best Of" collection released in the Spring of ‘07 and then waited in vain for one of them to surface, I'd realized that it was time to do things differently…
I don't think many people believed that "30:10" really existed but if anyone reading this has one in their possession, they had better claim their special prize right away because we will be posting the songs on this site very soon and the offer will expire…"
If the worst comes to the worst I'll get it from EC's site! I think Elvis may have been reading our cynical views about this not existing!

It seems these discs did actually exist.

A few years back Elvis Costello released a Best Of album called "The Best of Elvis Costello - the First Ten Years." Not many people knew but Elvis actually recorded acoustic versions of the songs featured on the album on a few CDRs and randomly placed them in CDs for fans to discover in stores. Here's a photo of one!

Planting this notice- is my take coming from one band hand writer reading the scrawl of another.
"....there's a merry song that starts in 'I' and ends in 'You', as many famous pop songs do....'

I wonder if this CD has a handwritten message from Elvis. If this CD actually exists of course.

The above post was in September 2007!
Have the tracks been posted anywhere? I'd love to know what they are.
By the way, rereading the thread, I never received the iTunes Raw CD I was promised. Can anyone send me a copy. As you can see from the previous page, I ain't too proud to beg!
