Oh Yes- when his wife was a performing guest at the White House recently- and was greeted by Mr/Mrs Obama- she mentioned her husband would have liked to have been there- when the President was told he was EC- he was incredulous-"you mean your husband is Elvis Costello?"

Maybe that means he hates him and was appalled.

One I didn't mention in the earlier thread: Lloyd Cole. (Well he used to be a celebrity, now he's just an unsung genius.) Not sure how much of a fan, but he did comment on how there seemed to be a lack of people coming through from late 70s/80s on compared to those of the 60s/early 70s and who had a serious body of work/would leave a real legacy, and cited Elvis as just about the only one. I would counter 'you forgot yourself, Lloyd!'
