Fan meet-up, London , Dec. 12
Verbal 'n co. ( possibly including me) cordially invite all to consider making plans to meet up in London on Sat. Dec.12. It's only at the planning stages at the moment but , considering the notice given, it would be great if some of you could make it. Time to start devising trade ins of family duties , 'important meeting' s that might coincide with the date and location etc.

It'll be a great day - we're going Christmas shopping and then we're going to get our nails done (fingers AND toes . ) If time permits we'll braid each other's hair. Afterwards we're hoping to have a good girly gossip.
Please come. Don't forget your secret Santa present!!!

I'll be in London Dec.10-13 , seeing a few shows (Damian Lewis in Moliere's "The Misanthrope" on the Friday so far) etc. Any ideas on a show we could all go to on the Saturday?
Or maybe we could turn this in to part of the Elvis Costello Heritage Trail . We could all meet up , say, Whitton , check into a really cheap hotel there and 'live' the scuzzy life Elvis had while writing MAIT. Or we could go back further and check into a hotel on the street where Elvis spent his childhood-

Same - sorry you can't be there. No doubt things are really taking off for you, business is thriving and you're showing a profit and in any case...Boy With A Problem wrote:Count me out. Work comes first I'm sure you'll understand.

I'm going to be staying in Oxford for the duration , Dec.10-13, of my trip to the U.K.. I was supposed to be staying with a friend in London but that got problematic. Charges for a decent hotel in the capital are a bit beyond my means at the moment. I decided on Oxford 'cos it's nearby and I've never really spent time there. I also liked the sound of the Ashmolean Dining Room, Beaumont Street,Oxford as reviewed this past weekend-

If anyone here is near Oxford and isn't going up to London on Sat. Dec 13th and would like to meet-up , do contact me via PM.

The Dining Room sounds fine but the real excitement is the refurbished Ashmolean itslef:

Saw it on the telly, and it looks fantastic. Lottery money put to good use.
I was born in Oxford, but I won't be anywhere near there when you're staying! It's a fine town to visit.

Me , Dave 'n Paul , The Garrick, Dec. 12 '09. Photo by Verbal ( too shy too pose -yet again!)
Our select gathering had a good old yap session, somehow managing to philophise from 2 to 8 pm , go for a pizza, dodge hundreds of Santa-costumed people and so on. What did we talk about? Elvis...occasioanally . Other E.C. fans we've met etc. And a thousand and one other topics. A excellent trip!
