My fav North song has changed

Post by Gillibeanz »

It was 'When it sings' but now its 'Can you be true' .

Its just a shame the songs don't come across on the album as awesomely as they did live at the concert, - I defy even a non Elvis fan not to be impressed. The whole bloody album is just magic!!! To think I very nearly missed it, it sends shiver down my spine!

Wholeheartedly agree Gilli...

My fave changed from Let me tell you about her to You turned to me after the concert....he worked his ol' magic on us.

I "still" like Still.

But Let Me Tell You About Her is second. I just can't stand that he's talking about Diana. The song is good, though.

My favorite (at the moment) is "Fallen"...

But, as usual, will probably change my mind by tomorrow.

All of those songs have magic in them, and have occupied serious space in the Westinghouse mental musical menagerie. The live vs non-live factor is interesting. What could Elvis do to give the songs the same warmmth and immediacy in the studio, or is it just down to the intensity and physical presence of his performances?

I'm starting to notice the latter half of North more now (besides Impatience). I can imagine Tony Bennett handling the almost-spoken-style Let Me Tell You About Her.

It would be a great loss if they didn't record one of the current shows for release, as they did with the PFM 'Sessions on 54th St' video, on DVD... the North material seems to demand to be heard live, and the current setlists are tops.

I've switched to liking "Impatience" and "North".....

Give me a day or two, it might change...

When It Sings is still my favorite...! Followed by Someone Took the Words Away....and You Left Me In the Dark. BUT....Could You Be True is growing on me ...especially this passage..."I long to hear you, whisper my name..."....beautiful chord progression and melody!

This album is taking some getting used to...

Love the bonus tracks especially Impatience..North is great...I'm very partial to Still though...

It could be because that video is so beautiful...
