Neil Young's version of "Oh, Lonesome Me" on After The Goldrush could be one of his best recordings of someone else's songs.

What's remarkable is that he wrote I Can't Stop Loving You and Oh Lonesome Me on the very same day. He really was a protean talent that never quite got his due.
