Post by johnfoyle »

This from listsserv yesterday (Dec.6th)

`The chairman of the Nobel Committee states in today´s "Dagbladet" that they asked Diana Krall to participate in the "Nobel Peace Prize Concert", in Oslo on December the 11th. but that she had to decline because
she´s marrying Elvis Costello. Remember who told you first !!! `

Diana Krall, Elvis Costello reportedly wed
Friend of Krall family says Nanaimo jazz singer and her fiancé wed Saturday

http://www.canada.com/entertainment/sto ... D2701D64F8

Monday, December 08, 2003

VICTORIA -- Diana Krall and Elvis Costello appear to have tied the knot this weekend in London, England.

Rick Haug, a Nanaimo man who is a friend and bandmate of Krall's uncle, said Randall Krall flew to London to attend the wedding of the two musical superstars.

If Nanaimo's buzzing rumour mill is to be believed, the pair were married on Saturday.

"He went out to the wedding. Yeah, he went over with his wife," said Haug, a bassist who plays with Randall in a Nanaimo band called Ray and the Rockets.

"He's very excited about it. He's quite close with Diana and visits often."

Haug said Krall, 39, and musical icon Costello, 49, have purchased a house in Nanoose on Vancouver Island.

Krall's management company, Sam Feldman and Associates, could not be reached for comment Sunday afternoon.

Last spring, Jim Krall, the father of the jazz singer/pianist, confirmed Diana and Costello were engaged. Rumours of the pair's romance began in January after they were spotted dining together in a New York restaurant. They never revealed a date for the marriage.

Last month, Krall and Costello visited the University of Victoria, where Krall received an honorary doctorate in fine arts.

In a July interview with CanWest News Service, Costello described the relationship with Krall as "a great thing."

Their collaboration hasn't yet extended to the musical variety, although Costello hasn't ruled out the idea.

"Maybe we will in the future but you don't want to do everything together," he said in that interview. "You want to keep it special, you know. Just because we're together doesn't mean we have to be the next Steve and Eydie. Or the next Lucy and Desi."

Costello is divored from his wife of 16 years, Cait O'Riordan

No, I don't think Diana would murder ol' Dec, she seems much too sweet.

Just saw this in Rolling Stone online http://www.rollingstone.com/news/newsar ... ?nid=19062 :

ELVIS COSTELLO and jazz singer/pianist DIANA KRALL were married on December 6th in London. News of the couple's engagement was revealed in May by Krall's father. The marriage is the first for Krall, 39. Costello, 49, was married for sixteen years to former POGUES bassist CAIT O'RIORDAN, but they divorced in November 2002 . . .

Hmmm, guess this means I wasn't invited.

What a way to find out.

That's IT!! I'm returning the blender.

I'm not really hopin for the kids, as it would mean
the end of the touring for EC and probably Diana.

And, I'm assuming they've been doing the wild thing,
as EC has looked more than happy for months now.

Men don't look that happy unless it's goin on.

Yaayy, they got married, though I'm still mystified by the
London choice. Married there, living over here, I guess
with a ton of money and a plane there ain't nothin you can't do!!

It is common that the sexual attractions of a young age will develop into minor obsessions as we grow older.

When a man is involved with a woman for a period of time, he becomes accustomed to the the particular ways of sex with that woman. When the relationship fails, whether or not the man is actually in love, he may find that later on he will look back fondly on the relationship, and fondle himself.

Talkin' from experience, here, folks. It isn't weird, it's natural.

I think Diana is hot, and she's just the kind of gal I would go for: Lusty, sultry, talented, insolent, intelligent, with a lot to grab on to.

Elvis is probably could not be happier with the way it's working out. I'll bet he's even "working out".

Disappointing her would not be an option.

Ah well, I guess now when I ask him to marry me it will have to be done ironically

Hey, thanks!! I was wondering what Mary looked like...

Nothing like cashing in on the x......the last name, the glasses.....I guess taking part of his identity as a marketing ploy was part of the alimony agreement....??

Hi Pip!

Sorry I haven't gotten back to your message. Pretty swamped.

Did I hear right that you may be coming to Chicago for EC? If so, how are your seats?

I'll send you a proper email this week.

Krall and Costello marry in London . . .

Tuesday, December 9, 2003

Nanaimo, B.C.'s jazz chanteuse Diana Krall tied the
knot with her beau of one year, Elvis Costello, in a
wedding held at Elton John's castle outside London on
Saturday night. The approximately 150 guests, who
included Paul McCartney and Canada's consul general to
New York, Pamela Wallin, were sworn to secrecy.

Krall, 39, and Costello, 49, began dating last January
after the Grammy Awards in New York. The two live in
New York and on Vancouver Island.

The marriage is the first for Krall. Costello's
previous two marriages ended in divorce.
