THE ELVIS COSTELLO FAN FORUM TRIBUTE CD DELIVERY CHALLENGE!
Step 1: Attend an Elvis Costello concert.
Step 2: Find Elvis after the show
Step 3: Hand Elvis the CD with a brief explanation of what it is
Step 4: Take a photo of Elvis holding up the CD
Could you imagine the fun if a whole bunch of us succeeded????? He'd be taking one picture after another with it, and we wouldn't be asking him to sign it to put it on eBay,.....it would be such a change of pace!!!!
I'm up for the challenge,,,,,I'd like to meet him and have him sign something for me anyway....now, just how to do it, as I don't like to bother people, and don't know where to go after the concerts.....geez, I was so much better at this in my teens!!!!!

Right after his last encore, and after you go in front of the stage asking for a setlist or any other souvenir from the stage, promptly leave the venue and look for the buses. They are usually parked by the exit door. A crowd will gather and sometimes a table will be set up. Wait there with the rest of the fanatics. Meet the Man, and enjoy the moment. The whole process goes by pretty fast. He handles everything in stride, and with a smile. Its great. Its easy.

Legman - it doesn't happen like that over here!
You go to the stage door, have a word with Paddy as to whether or not he's coming out and then wait around if he is. In London there's normally only 8-10 people that wait anyway.
At least you get to get something signed and have a chat with him!

Its happened to me a couple of times like that, so I thought it was the same everywhere. Is Paddy a real person? I met a crewmember in Dallas named Flakey, and saw him again in Atlanta. I feel very fortunate to be able to see EC so easily, it really caps off the evening.

I just received noise's CD of his band Oliver's Army's recordings. Since most of the other submissions thus far are solo-acoustic, it's nice to have some full-band stuff.
If more of you are capable of full-band styled workings, I'd appreciate your submissions.
It's not too late to quickly throw something together. I hope more of the people who initially expressed interest will follow suit soon!
11 days until the firm deadline!

This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

He's real all right! I've spoken to him a few times and he's been very helpful if you're waiting. If Elvis is going to be a while because of showbiz things he'll tell you so that it's your choice whether or nor you want to wait around.legman open to offers wrote:Is Paddy a real person?
I find that the longer I wait, the more genial Elvis is.
I think Paddy was also Xavier Valentine in 1986!

I'm not aware of any legal issues as this is a non-profit affair.
I will leave it at the discretion of individual contributors as to whether or not they want their real name to appear.
Please note that at this time the submissions deadline has passed and therefore I will not be accepting any further recordings. Thanks to everyone who actually came through on this. As for those of you who left us all with empty promises.... oh well.

I just signed on, and have been working on Riot Act a lot.
I know I'm late, but I just joined. I hope I can have it for you by this weekend(I'm seeing Elvis Saturday! thanks to a lovely member of this board).
Blue, can you help me out? I dunno how much experience you have with 8-10 track Digital Recorders/Mixers, but I'm having trouble bouncing tracks onto the mastering track. I will figure it out somehow, but I was hoping you could point me in the right direction.
Thanks a lot.
If I get it in in time, do I get to be in the cd booklet?

Despite working briefly in a recording studio, I do most of my recording on computer and therefore have little/no idea about 8-10 track digital recorders/mixers. Did it come with a manual?wehitandrun wrote: Blue, can you help me out?
