Hi all
WOW nice to feel so welcome. To Ice: $5 sounds like quite a deal and the 2 drink minimum will be no problem. To Verbal Gym: The name comes from my favorite movie, Bull Durham. I suppose there have already been dozens of those favorite Costello polls and such but I will go ahead and say my favorite Elvis LP is King of America, I have seen him in concert 4 times (all in the 80's) and I have 12 of his CD's. I am sure that does not qualify me as his biggest fan but I think he is a great songwriter and I really enjoy his stuff. Thanks again for the warm welcome from everyone

I thought it was fried twinkies and hashish laced with koolade that EC used to snort....
But welcome aboard! Any fan of "Bull Durham" is okay in my (and Ron Shelton's) book! (And I don't even like baseball!)

Sorry, I didn't know that there was some kind of "King Of America" box that shouldn't be opened. But now that I have, lol, I was listening to it this morning. My favorite thing about Elvis is his lyrics. They are clever and like lots of the new wave 80's lyrics I love, they often sort of "almost" make sence.

Oh, crash, don't listen to PoP. She's just ragging on me because I rally for KOA being the best Elvis album. I'm always going on about how much I love it. The whole board knows it. I just get a few jokes now and then because people know how I feel about it. It's nice to have someone else on the board who feels the same way.
Dear God, I love KOA!!!!!

We tend to josh Spooky when we get the chance about KOA. She loves us all really!
However, we have to brace ourselves for the Spooky report after she loses her Elvis virginity and sees him on Tuesday at the Ryman in Nashville. You've probably noticed reference to it on every thread!!!!!
Sorry Spooky. To quote from the man himself "You know I love you more than slightly"![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I live 65 mile due west of D.C. I worked close to D.C. for 13 years because, as you said, that's were the jobs were. I finally got lucky and found something lucrative close to home.
As for KOA, I play guitar, among other things, and those songs are very accessable to me and they are the kind I like to play and write. I have done some of those at open mic's etc in the past. I grew up playing with two brothers who were also huge Costello fans and we would play loats of his stuff for fun.
By the way I am well past the 2 drink minimum tonight so please excuse any spelling on tonight's posts. Hell, you had better give me lots of spelling slack in general now that I think about it lol.
I haven't been to an EC show in a long time. When will he be in the DC, VA,MD area next???

Ummm, crash, just so you know, you're not exactly the first person to drink and post on this board. Join the crowd.
And I don't see any upcoming EC shows in your area, but keep checking http://www.elviscostello.info for tour dates.
