What's with the "Moonraker" guys? To me (and lots of other people), this is easily the GCW of Bond movies. A real lowpoint that signalled even more lowpoints to come. But then I'm a Bond purist. My list is, with one exception, all-Connery. It's not that I don't think other actors have done Bond well -- Timothy Dalton is probably the best actor to ever take on the job, but the movies he was in bit the big one. Pierce Brosnan has done a good job and I've enjoyed the last couple of Bondsters (though not "Goldeneye"...for one thing, James Bond does not have male buddies! Even Felix Lightner is just a friendly work acquaintance. Ms. Moneypenny is his only buddy!!)

Anyhow, with hope that they actually adapt the story from the novel of "Casino Royale" (actually worth reading!) rather than just borrowing the title, here is my list....

1. Goldfinger.
2. From Russia with Love.
3. You Only Live Twice
4. Diamonds are Forever
5. The Man with the Golden Gun (okay, haven't seen this one since I was twelve, but I really dug it! The sounds of Herve Villechez (sp?) -- "the little guy from 'Fantasy Island' yelling "Mr. Scaramunga...Mr. Scaramunga" still sound in my ears)

1. The Spy Who Loved Me (hottest Bond-girl to boot)
2. Goldfinger
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (darker, more violent)
4. Tomorrow Never Dies
5. For Your Eyes Only

Close: Octopussy, From Russia With Love, GoldenEye

Worst: The World Is Not Enough, Moonraker, Never Say Never Again (the fake) and Licence to Kill (not an agent movie, more like a typical action revenge movie in my world)

Must admit, I haven't seen a lot of these Bond films (especially the Roger Moore ones) in ages. I may have been thinking of Octopussy.

Yeah, that's the one. As I said, I haven't seen any of the Moore films in a long long time, but remember really enjoying The Spy Who Loved Me when I was younger. Coincidentally, I watched Dr. No on TV last night. Connery as cool as a cucumber, but somewhat lacking in the humor that he showed in the character in later movies.

How anyone could fail to immediately be suspicious of a guy named Dr. No who operates his on his little private island hidden from the world is beyond me.

Which Bond film has that annoying blonde figure skater and that stupid fight in the hockey rink in it? It's one of the later Roger Moore films. That gets my nomination as the worst I've ever seen.

For Your Eyes Only. The 'annoying blonde figure skater' was this little bimbo,

Lynn-Holly Johnson

Moore looked so embarassed in that scene where she trys to bed him.

OH Jesus..she was irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not attractive at all.

Octopussy was also lousy, if not just for the name of the film and Dr. Goodhead.............I always have thought that the "sexual inuendo" in Bond films was pretty cheezy!!!!!!!!!! Except for Pussy Galore...she was hot. There's actually a bar in Copenhagen called Pussy Galore. Another good one was in Diamonds are Forever. "I'm Plenty" .."I'm sure you are"......"Plenty O'Toole"........."named after your father" ect.
