Your drink of choice is???

Chai tea is a perfectly reasonable beverage choice. It's the tea of choice among the people of India, and makes a good drink, hot or cold.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Similarly cold coffee.

Is 'iced tea' not a common phenomena in England? Come to think of it, I don't remember it even really being available while I lived there.

Not common, Blue. In fact I've never drunk it or seen it on sale anywhere.

I'm not crazy about Earl Grey for the same reason I prefer vodka to gin -- it's that perfumey juniper berry thing. I'll take Irish or English Breakfast tea. (Is there a difference? Do they call them something else -- like "Tea for Stupid Americans who Think They're Drinking Authentic UK-Type Tea" -- in Ireland and England??) And what's PG Tips (here it sounds like it would have something to do with our movie-rating system).

Liptons Peach Iced Tea is available in most supermarkets, though not in the average corner shop as on the continent (of Europe).

Lipton Peach is instant, tho, isn't it?

and instant is not iced tea.
Like me, the "g" is silent.

No hurricanes. Ever.
While I won't force any hurricanes on anyone (I despise 'em myself), we'll certainly have to try a few local brews while you're here SP.

Indeed...the yellow peril! Not super tenants though, you're right...I value my eyesight.

Here's a brilliant mixer from my heady student days for those brave enough...

Pint glass
2 shots of vodka
2 shots of malibu
whole bottle of Smirnoff Ice (white)
top up with a bottle of Reef (or any alcopop)...

called a PINT OF FUN! It tastes really nice, but gets you steamin!

What drinks do you hate? For me it's Baileys, that always makes me queasy....drinking red wine in the same session as lager also makes me head lavatory-bound!

I am going into the coffee shop buisness. I cannot stand the taste of coffee though. So I wanted something to drink while I was there so someone suggested chai tea. I tried it and it was like drinking pumkin pie which was good. So now I am hooked on the stuff.

Amaretto di Saronno. I remember wy wife (then just a friend) bringing a bottle of this back from Italy when we were studying in Paris together. We didn't have anything to mix it with, so we drank the entire bottle in an hour or so and both regretted it. I won't go near the stuff now.

Bombay Sapphire Gin Martini up with Blue Cheese stuffed olives.

And like my dad once told me (as confirmed by his years as a salesman in the 60's enduring 3 martini lunches):

Always drink gin martinis at lunch. Gin leaves a strong scent on the breath, vodka leaves very little.

After a 3 gin martini lunch, when you return to the office, your boss thinks yer drunk.

After a 3 vodka martini lunch, when you return to the office, your boss just thinks your stupid.

Drunk beats stupid any day.

On Coffee - I find myself missing Dunkin' Donuts coffee - that rich columbian blend - I like most of the coffee in Europe, especially the strong Italian - but I grew up on DD and for my money it's still the world's best.

On Tea - We're drinking and enjoying the cheap Yorkshire Tea - it comes in a green box and is blended in the Yorkshire Dales - "rich, refreshing & full of flavour." I really like unsweetened iced tea.

Booze - smooth whiskeys (except for Scotch) - good gin (Tanqueray, Bombay Saffire) - Tequila, Vodka, Rum - all good

Beer - any of the English bitters that are pulled in a pub. The Belgian beer is wonderful as well.

Wine - Red - even if it's out of a box

Soft Drinks - Coke (never diet) - Fresca (which it appears you can't buy in England)

Juice Drinks - Orange and Apple - don't like cranberry or grapefruit.
Everyone just needs to fuckin’ relax. Smoke more weed, the world is ending.
