Looks like dogshit to me. The original KOA cover was my favourite.

Agree.
Definitely prefer the original one.

It's just a little tinting. I imagine it will look better in person.

It sucks!
Now Elvis joins the ranks of Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Cary Grant and countless other poor, "colorized" suckers!
I wonder what clever marketing genius thought of this one.

While, I'm bashing out snide comments, may I also add that I will be impatiently awaiting the 2012 3-disc reissue of KOA that restores it's original cover to "it's intended B&W beauty". Tell me I'm wrong, I dare ya!
. . .well maybe it'll grow on me. . .

The tints are getting darker. Migdd - by the time of the 2012 3 disc reissue the sleeve will be completely black.

I think they've now taken into account the effect that Freddie Mercury had, late eighties, early 90's. And it's just the wrong concept... why it looks like dogshit.
...Goddammn, it's kind 'o sacriligious to both of 'em!

I guess I've always favored the 1995 version, although that is the version that I fell in love with - the one Doc had when we met. One of the few his ex didn't run off with when she left town.

I too have the LP, showing the entire photograph. Everything was just right-- the composition, the colour, the facial expression...
