I think North is his best cover ever... or since TYM, or KofA. [His best covers have him on them in decent portrait: TYM, Trust, PtheC, KofA etc] It's a great mix of a contemporary look, reflects the mood of the content and I can't see it putting anyone off buying/listening. I like EC's covers - they are often humerous and have a comfortable iconography for fans but sometimes they're not fit for the big bad world.

I like the starkness and simplicity of the North cover...seems like it is reflective of this change of direction. As I mentioned in an earlier thread it is also very similar to a photo in the gallery section of Diana Krall's Web site -
