I just got home from the Rochester Hills Show, and even after a 2 hour drive my mind is still realing. I need to get to bed (work tomorrow/today) but here's the 1st things that I'm thinking.
1. Emmylou sounded a bit off. I barely paid attention to her while she was singing. I was too distracted by Steve. I think I could watch him play piano on mute for the rest of my life and die content.
2. Mapquest sucks, I was an hour late.
3. That was the version of Needle Time that should've been recorded. Amazing...
4. Elvis sounded a little gruff toward the end, but it was a 3 (almost 3 1/2) hour show.
5. I Want You was orgasmic. I hope Elvis knows that even now he can reduce teenage girls to jelly with a few bars.

Thats all for now, I'm sure I'll post something more cohesive when the time comes.

I have a vague, drug-addled memory of Emmylou on SNL, offkey and bewildered looking, like she couldn't hear anything.

She did look a little confused. I'm not sure what was going on, but I dont think I Want You was supposed to happen. The stage was set for EH and LC to come back on, but the rest of the band walked out, Elvis with another guitar (the roadie was holding one out, he was ignored) and went into it. Brilliant.
