They played Secondary Modern when I saw them at the 930 Club in May 2007.

And the very next night was the last time he has played that song to date. I think he's about due to play it again.queenofthefleapit wrote:They played Secondary Modern when I saw them at the 930 Club in May 2007.

My first EC concert was '82, so I missed them the first time!

My biggest regret is never seeing one of the Costello/Nieve shows. Got a little taste with the "Joanna" wheel category, but would love to have seen a whole Costello/Nieve concert! Maybe they'll tour again some day.

Funny thing, too, is that I was just listening to the Nieve/Costello box set yesterday, and it really doesn't capture the feeling of the show.stricttime81 wrote:My biggest regret is never seeing one of the Costello/Nieve shows. I'm proud to say I only missed 5 of the UK 1999 shows (Brighton, Blackpool, Ipswich and Newcastle - oh and possibly London, can't remember) but they were the most intimate and moving performances I've seen from EC. Steve managed to represent all extremes of climatic conditions whipping up storms, tempests with piano lid slams and tranquil moments of lazy summer afternoons and Elvis sang without the overbearing vibrato that spoiled many recorded moments for me over that period. My one regret was the arrival of WIWC in 2002 as I'd hoped for a Costello/Nieve album with the songs they'd written together, which still haven't seen the light of day. If we don't get the wheel tour next year, perhaps a C/N tour would be cost effective and just as welcome.

I'm not sure that the quality of the Costello/Nieve songs that I've heard are particularly high eg I'm not a fan of Passionate Fight. Perhaps they haven't seen the light of day for good reason...

why...how many more were there? i know 1999 left us with many as yet unrecorded/released songs, but just how many were C/N co-writes? YOU LIE SWEETLY is the only one that jumps to my head.

They're the three I know about.
There are probably some others and maybe some unfinished works.
I have no evidence or anything about the above statement!
