Bizarre schedule. Start in Greece, then to Ireland and then back to Austria!

Don't think we'll need one for Poland...

All the reports from the Revolver Tour and the previews of the European solo shows are breaking my heart.
I’d been thinking about the Warsaw concert and the songs I would like to hear from the day I heard the news, so it’s really hard to get used to the thought that I won’t see Elvis in November.

Let's hope Poland gets a 3 night stint in 2012. One night SSB, one night solo and one night of the Imposters plus special guests.

Elvis Costello live in Athens
by (AMNA)

3 Oct 2011

Elvis Costello will be swinging by Athens during his "Solo" world tour, playing live for a one night at the Athens Concert Hall on October 26.

Costello fans be given a second opportunity to see him live after his scheduled appearance at the open-air Terravibe venue in Malakasa earlier this year was cancelled due to poor sales.

His last visit to Athens was in 2007 at the Herod Atticus Odeon, during the much-acclaimed "The River in Reverse" tour with singer-pianist Allen Toussaint. This time, it will be just Costello on his own, on the stage, with his suit and his hat and an acoustic guitar.

Yes, but unfortunately it will look like this:
Απορία γνωστής τραγουδίστριας μετά τον Elvis Costello: Να τραγουδήσω το She στο live ή θα με περάσουν για λεσβία;
Which Google translates as:
Questions after the famous singer Elvis Costello: She can sing in the live or to go for a lesbian?
It's almost 11pm in Athens, so the show is probably over.

Great concert tonight. Highlight for me was Shot With His Own Gun with piano; very dark. Excellent 'Jimmie Standing In The Rain' and 'Watching the Detectives', but 'National Ransom' didn't work at all and Almost Blue seemed uncertain tonight too. I can't help feeling it must be difficult for Elvis Costello at a concert like tonight - when the music is stripped down to just a guitar's accompaniment or a few chords on the piano it is so much the better to soak up the clever lyrics - but how many of the audience at the Megaron can appreciate the nuances, popular culture references and idioms that are his trademark. For me it was inevitable but a shame that Notting Hill's 'She' got the biggest cheer. Come back to Athens soon Elvis!

O ELVIS COSTELLO, THE YESTERDAY EVENING, IN THE HALL
Written by Dimitris Kanellopoulos - More Articles

Yesterday evening, Elvis Costello Concert Hall was a "handsome and lonely cowboy." Solo, of course. With guitars and piano. Only. Without a cigarette, but with a hat (and glasses). The solo course is a very tough case. It is easy to manage on stage, wants tsagano, wants quality, wants above all to have and hardware.
It fared badly by Costello. Ok, also has a history guy. Rich history. Especially fans of listeners should properly enjoyed. Not that we, the rest we went wrong. Needless to say, and the original audience (the Hall) that go into collective raptures when he heard the «She» (this is not?) From Notting Hill (right?).

Almost filled the Hall, despite his contrary predictions. There was a pervasive fear of the organizers that it (them) lived many tickets unsold. Especially expensive. Probably not verified fears judging from the front seats were full. From an audience with beautiful, do not say, shoes!

And the rear seats were full. Even suffocating. Obviously there would be at the cheap tickets. And when I say the "back seat" when I say kyriolexian. The rear gallery, each scene saw throughout the show back by the artist. Neither punishment had placed them. The Nuremberg trial, one thing. Crystal-clear lack of respect for the world is, by the organizers. Since the use of your solo emfanisisitan in fact somewhat different, had to leave a closed gallery. So it is right.

Leave the other. While in Brussels krinotane luck our up to fail that we saw in the Palace of the Elvis Costello. Anekdiigitoi ...

Another review: http://bit.ly/vf2c6c

Google translate:

The Elvis Costello concert in Odeon a few years ago, along with Allen Toussaint, one of the best concerts I ever attended. Without surprise, the energy and youthful enthusiasm of Elvis Costello, who managed to rouse the "heavy" Odeon. Unfortunately, it was the same last night at the Athens Concert Hall. Mr. Costello is still appetite, but the place was totally uncool.

The playlist was amazing and perfectly fits the theme of the tour «Solo». The Elvis Costello alone with his guitars, great voice and a piano for 2-3 songs. A! And a loudspeaker, which he used to sing an entire song with impressive results. We heard a lot of old blues, rock 'n' roll, until the "Brother Can You Spare A Dime?" Since the Great Depression, well suited to Elvis, and he seems to have come from another era, to is indeterminate age and standard musical identity. Of course, we heard a best of the whole of his career with only my lack of a favorite "Pump It Up". The crowning moment of course "I Want You". Rightly or wrongly is the best song and one of the most erotic (in the good sense) songs ever written. I guess he might have skylovarethei to interpret, but fortunately yesterday not neglected.

Elvis & his guitar
What to cover it just seemed awkward and the gig was the place. A lot of ignorant, uncool people - indeed some were leaving before the end (!) - And generally a decent climate, that does not match the rock version of Elvis. Why is Elvis Costello, that music and playing, doing rock concerts. Revolutionizing the world and wants to arouse, but yesterday you could not get up, can not be released. Just look at me and admired this great form. It's a great persona Costello. Irlandofatsa, with its horn glasses, wide-brimmed hat and immaculate suit. It is what we call troubadour and I would love to see him in a pub, drinking beer me. Until then, Mr. Costello: I want you.

I like the "solo and lonely cowboy" mention. Ha, I bet even EC would like that comment. Now I have Rhinestone Cowboy running in my head.
