Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Well, I don't have a record player, but happy for Elvis to make a little cash any way he can. Good luck with the project!
Re: Elvis hints at new release: Lupe-O-Tone's vinyl singles
P.S. But obviously I hope they come out in other formats eventually!

http://hifi247.com/mystery-release-from ... order.html Website now says "Availability: Out of stock" and "Due to popular demand this item is deleted..."
Draw your own conclusions... This may simply mean that 1,000 copies have been pre-ordered by customers who are willing to pay the postage charges.

Ordinarily I'd think "due to popular demand" means they sold out, but it was only days ago that EC made sarcastic use of the same phrase to explain why the Imperial Bedroom tour would not visit Europe.

Anyone's guess...a mere 1000 could sell this quickly with all the places it was posted. Or it could just be a momentary glitch with it probably being back on sale tomorrow. That is the option I am hopeful for as I was pulling the trigger on it tomorrow. Or it could have been one big joke all the way, which I do NOT believe. The second guess of mine is my bet. Maybe someone who did order already could verify monies being removed please. That would let us know it is a real deal...thanks, ba

I've no doubt it's genuine.
Also given that the postage/freight issues were resolved, I too was going to order this on Monday.
Oh well - it's not the end of my world if it has completely sold out.

Agree...any EC FAN can NOT be a completist without being checked into a psych ward periodically. It can not be done to have everything he has released.verbal gymnastics wrote:I've no doubt it's genuine.

Wow, the combination of reluctance, incompetence and sarcasm in their statements is quite off-putting

Re: Elvis hints at new release: Lupe-O-Tone's vinyl singles
One thing well understood and I fully agree about is international shipping!! As an occasional ebayer, the lp records I once bought/sold and received/shipped for at an approximation of $8 per, has skyrocketed. I must now list a single vinyl 12" with a worldwide shipping cost of $18/$20!!! Or a double vinyl at a minimum of $22. Even with these large numbers, if I were to include much extra cardboard protection...I might get stuck paying more at post office than I charged.sweetest punch wrote:http://www.elviscostello.com/yellow-pre ... eotone/907

Re: Elvis hints at new release: Lupe-O-Tone's vinyl singles
The statement in full
"TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY LUPE-O-TONE
We at Lupe-O-Tone are always looking for exciting new ways to bring music to you.
From July 4th, the new mystery release by The Imposter will be available from the digital vendor of your choice.
We had hoped to deliver a limited vinyl edition into the hands of listeners by this date but when it proved impossible to agree acceptable shipping costs with our former distributor, we took the reluctant decision to delete this title before it caused any more distress to our customers, especially those living overseas.
If you should be unhappy with your choice of this superior Lycanthropic waxing or feel used, abused, broke, busted or disgusted please contact: customerservice@hifientertainment.com to cancel your order and receive a full refund.
All other orders will be honored.
The choice is yours.
Don’t buy what you don’t want.
Whether you decide to await the arrival of this finely crafted object or choose the new-fangled, Invisible Record Method, the music will speak for itself".
I'm slightly confused (but then that's not exactly difficult).
It says "We had hoped to deliver a limited vinyl edition...[but] we took the reluctant decision to delete this title"
and later says
"If you should be unhappy...please contact: customerservice@hifientertainment.com to cancel your order and receive a full refund"
and
"All other orders will be honored".
Does that mean the pre-ordered copies (which may not be 1000 after all - they might only be sending out to those who have paid up by a certain time) will be shipped out?
My guess is that only a certain number of the 1000 have been sold and the remainder will be on sale at the next batch of Imperial Chambers shows.

Re: Elvis hints at new release: Lupe-O-Tone's vinyl singles
Elvis is being a bit of a 'slapped arse' about this. Perhaps it is the distributor's fault but the single was over expensive and Elvis doesn't have the demand for this sort of release.
Having said that looking forward to hearing it
