My father and my wife's mother are both seriously right wing, and my brother is a super lefty. We were together fro Christmas, so my wife and I decided to give a few gag gifts.
For Dad, a copy of Why I Hate Republicans and michael Moore's Dude, Where's My Country.
For my mother-in-law a Hillary Clinton biography and a copy of Bushisms.
And for my brother a Rush Limbaugh trivia book and a biography on Donald Rumsfeld.
Santa doesn't always use coal and switches, you know.
P.S. For my gag gift, I got a box of Ding Dongs and an issue of Guns & Ammo. My wife is pretty damn funny.

I got a Seal-a-Meal.....actually, I got two But I asked Santa for one. (ONE!) Just part of my grand idea to better myself and my family by sealing up my delicious home cooking for consuming as needed instead of running out for fast food. (I'll let you know how that goes.)
A stove top grill for indoor grilling, of course.
A pretty pair of Uggs. (all from hubby)
A Joss Stone and a Fountains of Wayne CD (from my daughter)
Some lovely L'Occitane skin lotion and cream (from my son)
A charm for my bracelet (from my baby. ok, he's 9)
And a huge, beautiful hand painted pasta bowl (from my oldest son and his girlfriend)
Santa was good to all of us and I'm so fortunate to have all these things to enjoy.

I'm not angry anymore....
That stuff from L'Occitane is yummy! WHat color Uggs?
I was quite spoiled this Christmas, I hafta say. I received 2 fantastic music DVDs, very different-- Franz Ferdinand and John Prine-- as well as the original King Kong with great bonuses, and Altman's Nashville, which has been on my list forever. My Dad gave me Zadie Smith's On Beauty, and my Bro gave me a fantastic-looking book about contemporary physics and cosmology called Warped Passages. And I got a book of short stories by Scottish women, gifts cards to both Victoria's Secret and Sephora, and a check which I promptly spent on a Kenneth Cole handbag (60% off, but of course) that I needed like a hole in the head but love. And Tallulah gave me a seriously high-end make-up kit that makes me feel very fancy, bless her big 'ol heart.
Frankly I can't think of a better haul-- music, film, fiction, physics and girly stuff. Suits me to a T!
Oh, and I also bought myself a 1GB memory card for my new camera...

I love the L'Occitane shea butter with the verbena sent. The lotion I have is so nice. I like the rich shea butter in the pot too. The other one I really like is the lavender scent......so wonderful....so....so French!
I got a pretty pair of orchid colored Ugg slipppers. Kind of like clogs with no backs. Sooooo comfy and warm.
