An Alaskan Malamute named Costello was best in show at the recent AKC Championship. Sounds like it was a big deal in the doggie world. I noticed a blurb about it in Sports Illustrated, but here is a better story.

Unfortunately, it appears that the canine in question was named after half of the comedy duo rather than our main man.

Every dog has his day, and the proud pet owners taking part in this year's Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show are all hoping one thing - that their pup's time is here.
After months of pruning and pampering, rigorous training and special diets, the annual canine competition finally begins today at Madison Square Garden
Competition is fierce at Westminster, the pinnacle of the dog show calendar. All entrants are American Kennel Club champions and the contest has three rounds - Best of Breed, Best of Group and Best in Show.
Costello, an Alaskan Malamute, won the AKC Eukanuba National Championship last month and his owner, breeder and handler, Sandy D'Andre, is hoping for another big win.
"You dream of winning the Westminster Dog Show but never expect it," D'Andrea said. "I think Costello has a star quality and just hope the judges think the same."
