Head To Toe, original version

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Head To Toe, original version

Post by martinfoyle »

Arguably Elvis last genuine 45 release was his excellent version of Head To Toe in the autumn of 1982. His version was based on the Escorts version, the original version by Chris Clark is on this interesting compilation compiled by Martin Freeman

I didn't know Chris Clark did a version! I thought it was a cover of a Smokey Robinson and the Miracles song, on this:

I like the CD, and well worth getting. It's got me into country music......

Indeed so did I and Smokey did do the first version. According to this,
'‘From Head To Toe’ which whilst written by Robinson, saw better chart action through Chris Clark’s version in ‘67’ ' so we're both right, sort of. Whatever, I'm looking forward to hearing Clarks version. Welcome aboard, oldhamer, good to see some new faces around here.

I've only heard Smokey Robinson's version which I love. Can anyone top a Smokey Robinson song?
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?
