3. Broken Promise Land. Cheesy Pun, good song. Sounds all underwaterish and swampy.
4. The River in Reverse. Much better than I feared. Also sounds hot and swampy, two important elements for me this week for some reason. could it be that it's 100 degrees and 300% humidity?
5. Freedom for The Stallion.
6. The Sharpest Thorn. I like it, but I have absolutely no idea what itâ€™s about. Pretty words with no meaning for me. I follow along for a while and then I go huh? What? Yeah, I know thatâ€™s riveting info!

Can't speak for anyone else, of course, but I love this song for personal reasons. The imagery that Elvis evokes is familiar to anyone who has been to New Orleans post-Katrina, and especially back in September and October. Also, the song is the most evocative of the 'sound' of New Orleans piano. The other new songs don't really have a particularly New Orleans sound to them, but this one sure does, and reminds me of whiling away summer afternoons at Lafitte's Blacksmith shop while someone played 'Tipitina', 'A Certain Girl', and 'Dey All Asked for You' on the piano.

While I'm at it, a confession: I don't love this album. I'm not even sure how much I like it. I know I don't hate it, but for whatever reason it's just not connecting with me. I'd still put the top three on this list on a mix.
