Will Allen Toussaint work with Elvis again?

Post by Adam2 »

I've been wondering, do you think they'll record another album or tour again? Obviously Allen Toussaint & The Crescent City Horns + Elvis & The Imposters are a wonderful combination... but will it happen?

I'm not sure we'll get another full-scale collaboration, but I wouldn't be surprised if Toussaint shows up playing the piano on a future song or two.

Speaking of Burt - looks like the royalties are drying up - he's out doing Geico commercials. If he's after the ka-ching, an EC collaboration is hardly the way to go these days, I'm afraid.

Hey, I like his Geico ad. Not as good as the "Pie & Chips" spot with the gecko, but still quite funny.

I am hoping they do something again. Wonder if they will release a live album? I actually think that could be better then the studio album.

Agree with you there sabreman - a live album would be incredible! But I doubt it will happen. Besides, I'm not sure it's really possible to capture the magic/voodoo of such a tour on tape!!

Why, did they have a fight over who was doing more work then who?

I agree with Blue. Let's hope we don't have to wait as long again though. Or for such a tragic reason which got them together this time.

Allen has nothing but kind words to say about the "EC Special" in this 07/20 interview:

13 minutes in, the interview is almost 10 min.
