Happy Birthday So Lacklustre

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Yes, I now have it. Many thanks my friend. I would like to buy you some beers sometime you're over and not on the shag trail.

I'm seriously thinking of moving to a house by that trail so there should be plenty of opportunities. Or at least I'll be over a couple of times during the upcoming months. No meetups planned?

I heard this very recently. Who said it? It's bothering me. Google can't help.

Dunno. My friend Peter, who lives in London, heard it somewhere. I'll have to ask him.

Great expression though, ain't it?

Sounds like something Chris "Finchy" Finch might have said on The Office.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Damn! I need to know. I wouldn't say it's a widely used expression. I have an image of a man saying it to a woman and prefacing it with an apology as he realised he was going to use it. But I can't think where I saw this. Peter please help me!

He thinks it is from a cop show called "Rebus", which I have never seen.

A new series has just started. and it's possible I may have seen a moment of it with that line. It sounds plausibly Scottish, like Rebus.

Poor SLL - he keeps seeing this thread get updated, and says to himself 'St Arsene preserve me, I do appear to be getting a great number of birthday salutations this year!', only to find the expression 'soft as a bag of tits' is being discussed.

Yes - a clear case of thread hi-jacking.
