This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

All weekend here apparently. Maybe there's hope for the Red Sox after all. Sort of a "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain"-type thing (verena I don't expect you to understand what I'm talking about).

The Black Swan - The Triffids. the album that they hoped would bring them to a larger international audience in 1989 without selling out. Though there are many fine moments, it didn't gel as powerfully in its tones as in which albums the homely and at times idyllic tones of its 5 star predecessors Born Sandy Devotional & Calenture did... this though, with the individual songs, eventually gave it a certain sense of romantic displacement growing to be an excellent listen for me nonetheless. The band then had apparently reached the limits of its ambitions and disbanded shortly after.
