Well we have pretty good symmetry on here if nothing else:

-Spurs - you and Gilli
-ManU - Otis and colrow
-Arse - so lack and Fishfinger King
-Fulham - BWAP and moody (?)
-Liverpool - pole and PlaythingOrPet
-Chelsea - me and that nutcase charlie stumpy

I think there's an Everton fan rattling around somewhere (John?). RTHTW is Sunderland I believe. Who am I missing?

Are you questioning my loyalty, sam? As long as Mostest is there, so am I. In spirit and cable television anyway.

I thought they could. I thought they could. I thought they could.

I hate Cuauhtémoc Blanco. I really do. New York will find a way to lose, and I'll end up rooting for New England again. And they aren't nearly as good looking as they were last year.

Blanco is a punk, but a talented one. He spent the better part of the game at the Meadowlands diving around looking for fouls. He can play a killer pass.

I'd be shocked if the Bulls were able to do anything against New England. Two good strikers, a speedy winger and one hard as nails midfielder - that's all we have.

That's right. Haven't seen him in ages. And stormwarning is Leeds.

Not that he will admit to. I think his friend was physio at West Brom a while ago, so he had a passing interest in their results.

Glads you're seeing a symmetry in this rather than abusing us!

Pet rarely posts, and I don't recall IP showing as much interest in Liverpool as in United on behlaf of his sons, but then the man whose mug appears at the top of the screen makes up for all that!

I'm meant to be going to Patti Smith tomorrow, but this means missing MU live vs. Kiev. Seeing as I no longer have Sky Sports, this is a big thing. Even moreso given that the friend who suggested it and procured tickets is without doubt the biggest MU fan I know, if not the most obsessed, partisan football fan of any sort I've ever met. He's the man who said in advance of both things happening that he would happily have accepted MU losing the FA Cup as a trade off for Liverpool not winning vs. Milan. To me that's an insult to MU, and also an unacceptable vote for Berlusconi, but to him that was sound logic. (I cheered Liverpool on the time they beat them, and hoped for the same again this year.) He's from Milton Keynes, but has spent all his life going to OT and does have a season ticket now after years of trying.

I heard on the Guardian podcast that Dinamo Kiev had not won a home match in the CL for three years. Sounds like a banker for United.

Jol gone by tomorrow, you'd have to think. Bizarre team selection - no Berbatov, Defoe not even on the bench in a game they needed to win, or at the very least get a point from. Tainio is awful, Jenas had a stinker - bad first touch, bad defending for Milner's goal. Puts all of Chelsea's problems in perspective.

Can't disagree with any of that. Dawson was woeful as well. No confidence whatsoever and I think it's best for everyone if MJ packs his bag now.

As I said several weeks ago, it matters not how good Jol has been or could be - the board have undermined him, he seems to have lost confidence and some of the players definitely have lost comfidence. I don't think leaving Berbatov on the bench affected the result too much, it was letting in 3 more goals that was the problem. As JM says, Dawson was terrible, and Kaboul, Tainio, Zakora, Malbranque were not much better. Berbatov did not seem to react well to being on the bench, unless something drastic happens I think he will go in January - Jol or noJol.

How Kuyt got away with just a booking on Saturday is remarkable, another example of the long time love affair between referees and Liverpool/ManUtd.

Yes, some very strange decisions in that Liverpool/Everton match. The refereeing in England is maddeningly inconsistent. Last night Faye came in both feet studs up on Keane. A less dangerous tackle than that got Mikel sent off at Old Trafford. Faye wasn't even booked.

Nice goal by Alex at Boro this weekend. A lot of fans disguised as empty seats.

Otis, hope you enjoyed Patti Smith tonight - legend!
United wre on fire in Kiev - great performance, always in control, could and should have scored ten!
Saw highlights of Arsenal and they were superb - remonded me of Roma last season, everything they did came off.

Incredible Arse demolition. Was semi-anxious at Patti Smith as I heard we'd let one in, and I didn't get the end of gamer result text I was expecting, but home in time for highlights and all well with the world. And very nice to see Ronaldinho, Henry and Messi not putting one past Rangers. Patti was great, now on to the gig thread...

Back page of tomorrow's Times says Jol is a goner and Spurs have lined up Juande Ramos for next season.

He 'resigned' before kick-off apparently, and the board accepted his resignation. Word got out during their defeat against the mighty Getafe and the ground gave him a standing ovation (probably because they are relieved that the farce is over).

Will be watching from the sofa, along with scouse supporting Mme Solack. I'm guessing I won't be having an early night on Sunday.
