The circus that is the L. A. Galaxy continues. I wanted to see how Cobi would do, so I stayed up for the first half and who is skulking around the Home Depot Center trying to look cool and uninterested?

Bruce Freakin' Arena.

All our trash seems to migrate west.

I still have my "Fire Bruce" t-shirt and button. Maybe I can pawn them off on a Gals fan early next season.

Oh that was nice! 4-0! And United drop points to the Barcodes.

Off to the Swamp with the kids in a few hours to see the Red Bulls play Toronto.

Here we go! Here we go! 2-0 win, despite having Cichero sent off. The positive vibes keep flowing with my kids at the stadium. But Houston next week will be a challenge.

Yep, both kids and the wife going on Sunday, then my little dude to the RSL game in September.

I thought we were toast when Cherundolo was sent off. Good to see Beasley back. Glad that Ruiz is going to be Toronto's Designated Dickhead and not RB's.

Check out Anderson's pronunciation of his team's name.

Why? He sounds like an idiot. Must be taking face accent lessons with Madonna.

He is a twat and he does sound silly, but at the same time there's a rather endearing attempt to tone down his accent and not speak too quickly or in a convoluted way (though in Holland this is hardly necessary). I don't hear him putting on a Dutch accent and nothing in it makes me laugh.

Oh yes!!! What an awesome performance - and I ain't talkin' about Chelsea.

Red Bulls absolutely dismantle defending champions Houston 3-0 (should have been an even more lopsided score) and I was there to take it all in with the wife and kids. Great bullet header by Juan Pablo Angel and we are on fire at the moment. The new guys are giving us a big lift, but the guys who have been around for a long time have really picked their game up as well. Best performance in a long long time and it caps off a nice three-game winning streak. Now we need to go on the road and beat DC Scum.

Great way to end the weekend!

Who from the highlights looked remarkably lucky to get 3 points. Great free kick (and I grudgingly welcome the FF points), but otherwise it looked like Chelsea were totally outplayed. This weekend's MOTD revealed some good solid play from the likes of Fulham, Sunderland and Wigan. If only there could be a more genuine openness to the Prem (as long as the current holders stay holders).

Wigan deserved more, but the three points is all that matters to me. International week, a lot of players away and maybe some heavy legs so I'm not complaining. At least we didn't lose, like Arsenal did, or get beat by Stoke, like Villa.

Jimenez looked really good. Great 35-40 yard pass to Magee for the third goal and very solid defensively. Juan Pablo was, well, Juan Pablo - great again. And Pietravallo is our new midfield destroyer. Now to get some points on the road. Got to meet Stammler and Magee in the Corner Pub after the match - nice guys.

Well neither did you to be fair. They scored your only goal - you shouldn't be so hard on them!

It was a deflected on target shot rather than an own goal (which is why you would get 5 points on FF for it). Pompey had an early chance, and a few shots hooved in from distance, but United had much more control of the game. It was quite different to Wigan. We've often struggled at Fratton Park (e.g. las season), but this was 3 points well deserved. Rooney still isn't delivering, Tevez was strong, Anderson is jet lagged, Scholes played well. Clearly we're missing Ronaldo, and Berbatov might be a handy addition too.
