Shelton's biography isn't without a lot of interesting analysis about the songs and the music throughout, and with highly informative background information including their many allusions etc. And besides by references in the general text, he does it song by song. For better or worse he doesn't go into exhaustive detail though like other books do.Bit tedious though, I want a good mix of bio and interesting analysis (as I said above!).
