Happy Valentine's Day, everybody! I'm getting the jump on, because I don't have Internet outside of work, and hopefully I'll be too busy anyway to be posting...I wish you all love on this made-up holiday, whatever form it may take. My boyfriend stole me a small teddy bear from Duane Reade, which I find absurdly romantic.

In the past I have always been kind of bitter about valentines day, cause I rarely have someone to share it with.

But this year of course I am a lucky guy. Unfortunately I can't get down to see RedShoes until Sunday, but we will celebrate then.

Well, I have an interesting Valentine's story.

It was on Valentine's Day back in 1983 that I broke up with DrS, when we were first seeing each other as freshmen in college. I loved him, but he was brainy and absorbed in his scholarly studies - I was there to win friends and influence people.

Whenever we encounter some bit of bad luck around Valentine's day now, we refer to it as the Valentine's curse.

But I always know that though it took us many years and mistakes to get back together, he is my one true soul mate. Our kids are gone this weekend and will be all alone.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. If you don't have a significant other, celebrate anyone whom you love or who loves you.

spooky - that's so SWEET!!!! you guys are so fab.

mba - ooooh, a youthful thief! sounds exciting.

i usually try to do something nice for myself for V-day - if you don't love yourself, why should anybody else?

so, i'm getting my hair cut and re-colored back to its blonde state.

and i will take my stylist a gift, since she is lovely and does an excellent job on my hair. she deserves a gift. (as well as a tip, i'm not stupid)

Awwww. Even though Blue and I wont' get to share Valentine's Day - I'm sure we'll make up for it Sunday and the rest of the week.

I do think it's a pretty silly and commercial holiday overall, but when you're in love it seems you'll take any excuse to show that.....
