E.C. CD

Post by crash8_durham »

I carry a dozen Costello CD's in the car. Yesterday I finally made a CD that I could carry without the whole book when needed. I thought I would share the tracks I chose and let everyone debate on what I should have added or left out etc. So here goes.

track list

1 Watching The Detectives
2 Alison
3 Peace Love and Understanding
4 Oliver's Army
5 Accidents Will Happen
6 Radio Radio
7 I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down
8 Girls Talk
9 Beyond Belief
10 Deep Dark Truthful Mirror
11 Brilliant Mistake
12 A Good Year For The Roses
13 Jack Of All Parades
14 People's Limo
15 Veronica
16 Monkey To Man
17 Blue Chair
18 Watch Your Step
19 King Horse
20 Men Called Uncle
21 Black And White World (Get Happy version)
22 The Angels Want To Wear My Red Shoes
23 Getting Mighty Crowded
24 Just A Memory
25 Shipbuilding

I had 17 seconds left over.

I listened to it in the car today and the list really worked well in that order.

So tell me what you think

It's a great list as is, but since you made the invitation....

I think "Lipstick Vogue" would have added representation to TYM (outside of Radio Radio) and replace "Girls Talk" (for me) in the number 8 slot. I think it would work well after "I Can't Stand Up..." because of the powerful transition from dominant drumming to fast dominant drumming. That, and I can't imagine an Elvis Compilation disc without it,
