Why are we racing to be so old?
Thanks for the useful info.
This concert is flagged as a benefit concert. (*Benefit Concerts Produced By Ron Delsner Presents) Anyone have any ideas what the benefit is?
Also, I have never been to Summerstage. Is it assigned seating, general admission, and/or "picnic-style" seating? Is there any advantage to getting the first crack at the tickets?

Here is a link for ticket information. It is a general admission event, so there is no need to be the first one on the website at noon this Saturday.

It's not going to be just The Imposters backing Elvis 'n Emmy this summer - ace guitarist Larry Campbell will be there too.

Larry will be touring with Elvis Costello and Emmylou Harris during the month of July. The dates are posted on Elvis Costello's site.

There has been some confusion about the date. I think the show is Tuesday July 19, NOT Sunday July 17.
Here is the entry on the Summerstage website:
Elvis Costello & The Imposters*
featuring the vocal stylings of Emmylou Harris
Tuesday, July 19th - 6:00pm doors
Tickets: $57.50 advance / $60 day of concert
http://www.summerstage.org/
Here is the entry from EC's Official Website:
7/19/2005 New York, NY USA Central Park Summerstage
With Emmylou Harris
Also, my ticket receipt says July 19, not July 17.
I have also seen it listed as the 17th, but I think that it a typo. Anyone have any different information?

Sorry WSS.
Mug, Summerstage has some pretty creepy rules -- no coolers, no chairs, no backpacks or duffelbags. No weapons (!) or alcohol. Need I point out that they specifically prohibit hula hoops, snakes, and children under 3 years old. (I'm not kidding!)
Blanket and book seem to be allowed, though.

HEY! That's the day after my birthday!!!selfmademug wrote:Now what could be a better board meet-up than this event, I ask you?? Kinda poopy that it's a Sunday night but oh well.
Sunday in the park with Elvis, anyone?? I'm there with a blanket, chair, book and cooler. Who's in?

(oh, it's it on Tuesday now? Was blinding by my jealous rage for a mo').
And I was happy to be alive, in a magic world.
The 'official' write-up for this -

Elvis Costello & The Imposters

Produced by Ron Delsener Presents
Elvis Costello has had a busy few years. Aside from getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (Class of 2003) and meeting his new wife (jazz superstar Diana Krall), he reunited with 2/3 of his former backing band The Attractions to form a new group (slyly dubbed The Imposters) and released an album of jazz-tinged ballads (North), a suite of orchestral works (ll Songo) and a good old fashioned rock record (The Delivery Man). So we’re frankly amazed (and delighted) that he’s found the time to return to Central Park for his third appearance at SummerStage. Elvis will be joined by The Imposters and country-rock legend Emmylou Harris in a special guest appearance
