My 24th Birthday

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

My 24th Birthday

Post by El Vez »

Not only do I turn 24 on thursday, but this week is also special to me because my parents are coming from Tuscaloosa, AL to Maryville to meet my girlfriend's family. Since they are very likely to wind up as in-laws, it's really important that they meet and (hopefully) like each other.

Blue.....Damn, that lyric finally came around didn't it?!

Oily....we're still talking about taking awhile longer before we cross that bridge. Mainly so that we can get our finances (mine, primarily) in order.

Happy Birthday, El Vez! You're twice the man you were at 12 and half the man you'll be at 48.

Happy Birthday El!!!!! Hope you have a great day!

Got another lyric for ya...

"I'm 24 years old
I've got everything to live for"

Chris Cornell solo album...shoulda stayed solo...
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. Do you think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fuckin' cross? It's kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on.

It's a wonderful age--enjoy it.

WAIT for marriage as long as you can. Once you've done it, you're stuck. Forever.

Have a few drinks for me. A lot, actually.

You were the first person on the board that I really talked with and you have been a friend to me ever since - in good moments as well as bad. :)

You're a special person and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Being an Elvis fan with good taste in movies, you're obviously wise beyond your years. Have a great birthday!

And, re, the marriage...well, age is a relative thing. You're ready for things when you're ready. Just remember there's no particular hurry here. Lots of time left on everyone's bio-clocks and all, and you can be plenty committed without actually getting all legal about it.

(My best friend was with his girlfriend for most of seven years, minus a brief semi-break-up, before he finally proposed, and they didn't get married for another three years after that. They now have a beautiful toddler and are easily the most solid and stable couple I know -- including my parents, who've been married since the fifties, but who I still expect to break up any day out of sheer ennui! :? )

Happy birthday, El Vez. Hope you had a good'un.

Is 24 the most common age here?
