Does anybody know the true story behind EC's song ... 'I want you' ?

Otherwise it's generally accepted that his song is Elvis dealing with his divorce from Wife No.1

Really? Wasn't Mary the one who was dumped? How could it be about him being jealous of her and her new lover, if he was the one doing the dumping (but perhaps I'm wrong about this)?

I doubt it's about anyone in particular - I think it's a vivid and scary artist's portrayal of obsessive sexual jealousy, based on feelings we've all been able to relate to at some point in our lives, but taken to an alarming extreme.

Great track, amazing recording - but very hard to actually 'enjoy'!

(And just a brief shout-out for 'Blood and Chocolate' as one of Elvis's greatest albums, by the way)
