In the interviews Elvis is giving, he talks about an English expression 'I'm going south' wich means something like 'not doing so well'. In that sense, 'North' has a positive conotation.

Or has it something to do with CanaKrall... ?

Two both things, probably.

North for us southern people has also got a particular connotation of introspection, solitude, quietness, peace in general (whereas "south" would mean the opposite: rage, passion, "fiesta", sun...). Therefore, North describes quite well the spirit of the album.

Another poster from Spain? Wow, that's two this month, after none for a year. Is this partly due to Costello's impending visit? When did he last play there? Where are you Spanish Boy? Going to Granada, or Madrid, maybe?

Translation:

He said: Viva Triana! (Hail TRiana! -a particular neighbourhood in Seville)

And then I asked: Are you from Seville, too? I can´t believe it!

Groovy stuff.

I learned 'Can I go to the bathroom?' in Spanish...that was it...but that was many moons ago.

That will go down well. When I think of Triana, I recall mad taxi drivers with brilliant local radio stations belting out flamenco singers at impressive volumes. And Cruzcampo beer taps.

Hey, Rey de España, now here's a question: what IB, or IFP, maybe, did you attend in Seville, and between which years? I'll explain later!

I think 'north' must also refer to Canada, where he is going to be living and the home of Diana Krall.

We aren't going to know the truth for years from EC...so just make it whatever you want it to be.....

I pick that he's focused on going North

I didn´t actually study here, Otis. I only live here, but I´m from Jerez, where the Sherry wine comes from (this is for the rest of the bunch).

But I see you now the zone well (maybe teaching English at some IB or IFP?).
